If you think that Europe is only good to be visited during the winter or during snowy times, you probably don’t know Algarve yet. But Hurb is here to talk about and show you a little bit of this wonderful Portuguese city.
Many people when they start planning their trips to Europe, they automatically think about Paris, London, Amsterdam, Rome, among others, but what about including Algarve in the planning as well? Certainly you won’t regret.
One of the richest regions in Portugal, Algarve is around 280 km (173 miles) from Lisbon. Algarve is one of the most important places in Europe and has been attracting a lot of tourists, mainly because of the many amazing beaches it has. In the south part of Portugal, on the coastal part of the region and bordering Spain, the place is incredibly beautiful and welcoming for all kinds of tourists, you’ll find a lot of beaches to enjoy your time, relax, cool off and have fun. Besides, there is an about 6000 km (3728 miles) of beach extension.
There are several beaches, such as: Praia Algar de Benagil, Praia da Marinha, Algar Seco, Lagos, Praia do Ferragudo, and many other options that are surrounded by some beautiful and huge cliffs, some of the cliffs have restaurants and bars around them, there are beaches for those who like fishing, beaches with museums, churches and squares in the area. They are considered some of the best beaches of Portugal (and the prettiest as well), and it’s not for nothing.
Getting to Algarve isn’t hard, you can get to Faro, a district of Algarve, by plane; you can get or rent a car and go for a road trip departing from Lisbon or Sevilla, in Spain, that are just about 200 km (124 miles) from Algarve. The rout can be also made by bus or train, departing from the same cities.
The region is either perfect for those who are travelling alone, as a couple, with the family or with friends. Independent on what your case is, it doesn’t make a difference because you’ll certainly be amazed by the beauty of the place and will have a lot of fun visiting the beaches and touristic attractions, collecting memories and stories to share later on.
